ATBU Student Loans

ABTU student loans are loans that are presented by the university to competent students. They typically have long repayment terms and low-interest rates.

Federal Government Student Loans

Federal government student loans are loans presented by the Nigerian government to capable students. They are like the ATBU student loans, as they are classically low-interest loans and have long repayment terms.

The above are just the three (3) loans that ATBU students can apply for in Nigeria.

ATBU Student Loan Application Portal

The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University has launched its student loan portal to allow students who are finding it complicated to fund their education to apply.

This is harmonized with the Federal Government of Nigeria Student Loan Act, which states that all Nigerian indigenes who are tested in chasing their education should have access to the Nigerian Student Loan.

The loan is interest-free and is expected to be paid back two years after the achievement of the one-year necessary National Youth Service Corps.

Though the ATBU student loan only covers tuition fees, it does not cover accommodation or other expenses, and it is paid straight into the university account.

Eligibility Requirements to Apply for a Loan as an ATBU Student

Before you can be qualified for the ATBU student loans, you must be eligible and have all the requirements below. They include:

Must be a citizen of Nigeria.
Must have NIN.
Be a student of ATBU.
Must bring two guarantors: a lawyer who has at least 10 years of post-call experience and a civil servant with at least 12 years of service.
JAMB Result.
Should have WAEC, FSLC, NECO, or NABTEB/GCE.
State of origin certificate
Computer literacy.
Talented in the oral and written English language.
The university admission letter
Local Government Area certificate
